Happy 4th!

Happy 4th to one and All!
I hope that you all had a wonderful Independence day. It was great here in Michigan. It was so so hot that day. We went all around and talked to many people. We met the Mayor or Lake City, who came up to us and introduced himself and his brother and I said well it is good to meet you. Are you from around here/ a member? He said no I'm the Mayor! Uhhh I felt like an idiot haha.

Then we went and had lunch at a cute little Mexican restaurant ( not as good as cafe rio, but pretty delicious). As we were just finishing up a lady came up and said, "Hi, let me pay for your lunch. My son is serving in Idaho and people pay for his, groceries, lunch and dinner all the time." We felt so blessed. Overall, it was a great day!

This past week we were able to pick up a couple of new investigators. The first one is Carole. Carole brought a less active member to church a few weeks ago and I was able to talk to her after the service. She said she absolutely loved it! So were scheduled an appointment to go and visit with her. That was a blessing. She was so excited to learn more!
Then we went over to a have a lesson with Jess. This lesson was not very easy to get though. The adversary is working extra hard on her. We had it all scheduled when we got a text from her that said, " My daughter I think just broke her arm. We are going to take her to the ER." So we texted Vanessa and asked if she had heard anything. We weren't going to meet her till later so we said we will just keep the appointment and if we have to reschedule later we can. Anyway, she decided to go to the doctor instead. So we were excited and kept the appointment. Then we got a call, the doctors had moved the appointment earlier. We could meet again and in the end it actually worked with our schedule. It was beautiful GOD ALWAYS WINS in the end!!

Lastly, a few weeks back Sister Bair and I were out knocking and we knocked into this cute girl named Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn makes wigs for Disney princesses and does parties for kids. She really wanted to learn about  the gospel. Well we finally got an appointment with her yesterday. IT was so amazing. The spirit was ever strong. We talked to her and got to know her better, she had so so many questions and we were able to answer all the questions. She looked at us and said, this is so amazing. It is all just clicking :) I am so so grateful for the spirit. It will always testify of truth. If It weren't for the spirit none of us would have this gospel in our lives.

This week I was reading in my scriptures (Shocking I know). Can I just say that I LOVE THE SCRIPTURES!

They are absolutely just amazing. I was studying Alma Chapters 7-9. I would invite all of you to study these chapters. One verse that stood out to me though is chapter 9: 28 "Therefore, prepare ye the way of the Lord, for the time is at hand that all men shall reap a reward of their works, according to that which they have been"—if they have been righteous they shall reap the salvation of their souls, according to the power and deliverance of Jesus Christ; and if they have been evil they shall reap the damnation of their souls, according to the power and captivation of the devil.

Now a little preface. So what is happening is Alma is preaching to the people of Ammoniah calling them to repentance. Chapter 7 talks about the Savior and his atonement. It talks about what is going to come. How Christ is going to suffer all kinds of pain for each of us. Now it is our job to prepare the way for the Lord. No matter where we are, what we are doing. There is a promise in there that as we do those things that we will have salvation to our souls and that that we will have the power and deliverance given from Jesus Christ in the Process.

I hope that all of you know how much I love you and how much I love my savior Jesus Christ. If it wasn't for him I wouldn't be out here sharing such a wonderful message. I invite all of you to study the Book of Mormon each day and this week study these chapters and pray about the words that are spoken. I can promise you In the name of Jesus Christ that as you do this burdens will be lifted from your shoulders and you will feel more love, peace and joy from your savior and in your own lives.

I also ask a favor from each of you. Please remember my companion Sister Hughes in your prayers. At this time she is struggling and could use some extra prayers.

I love you so much. Thank you for all that you do for me! Remember, the fight isn't over yet so keep on fighting!

Love Always and Forever,
Sister Milar
