Miracles Happen

Sometimes as a missionary you go into a lesson having no idea what to teach or how to help your investigator. All you know is that you felt inspired to have a member come and that is it.

That is exactly what happened with us last night at Dana's lesson. We pushed her baptism back last week. We hadn't been able to have a lesson with her. We really didn't feel like she was going to drop us but weren't sure what to do to help her. We went into her lesson just with a lot of prayer and the spirit.

We started talking a little bit when all of a sudden this guy walks in and is joking around and says, "Want to teach me how to play Poker." I laughed and said, "not right now, but you can come join us we are talking about Jesus Christ." So he came over and introduced himself. His name was Donaven from Mississippi and he was here in Cadillac as a contractor. They are doing some work at the movie theater.

He joined our conversation. We started talking about how we can't ever fail God and that everything we do and go through teaches us something. He had a lot of wonderful stories for us and taught us so many wonderful things. Dana took it all in. Later he had to sneak out but as we continued to talk Dana said that she knows the gospel is true it is just completely different from her past life. We told her that she can do hard things.

The lesson went wonderfully. All day the scripture in Proverbs 3:5-6  kept coming to mind. "Trust in the Lord in all thine doings, lean not to thine own understandings and he will direct your paths." I know and can bare testimony that as we trust in the Lord and do what he  needs us to do he will help us through everything!!

Trust is an eternal principle to me. God knows best and as we depend on him he will help guide us through every little thing that we do and go through.

We also had a wonderful lesson with Tina. Tina is progressing wonderfully. We talked more about her baptism this past week and she is so excited. It has been amazing. She has told us that she has been able to receive more personal revelation and knows for a fact this is what she needs to be doing.

Church was so fantastic yesterday. President Hoover spoke to us and I want to share a thought from him.  He was talking about the temple and how the Lord always is reaching out to us trying to invite us in to his home. He is always finding ways to allow people to get to know him, to feel loved, and cared for.  He then brought up that we are all trying to be more Christ-like and follow his example. So are we inviting others to come to our home, to get to know them, to help them feel loved and cared for?

I love each and everyone of you. I want you to all know that there is no place I'd rather be than right here in Cadillac Michigan. I know that the Lord has work for me to do and I am here to do it. I am so grateful for this gospel and the light it brings to individuals. How are you letting the light of Christ into your life?

I hope you all have a wonderful week and remember to always trust in the Lord :)

Happy DAY!

What a Happy Emailing Day!
Congrats to the Madsen's and Morris's on the tiny Toads! I am pretty sure that my whole area knows that I have three sisters that are all pregnant and how excited I have been about it. We are just waiting for one more tiny toad and then I hopefully will get to meet one and all!

Transfer calls were yesterday and no worries, I am staying in Cadillac as I expected. I love it here and so much is going on. We are hoping and praying that we can have 3 baptisms this transfer. (Dana, Tina, and a Miracle. Maybe Jill or Allie)

This week has been a pretty great week. We had a wonderful lesson with Tina. Last week we had encourage her to pray about baptism. So this week when we met with her we all started talking and I asked if she was able to pray about baptism and if she received an answer. She said she has been praying a lot about it. Sunday was fast and testimony meeting and as she was listening to the testimonies she felt the spirit very strong and decided she needs to be baptized. She said she just had no idea when because summer is coming fast and almost every weekend something is already scheduled. So we pulled out a calendar. The date for baptism has been scheduled on the 3rd of June.  Literally, the only weekend available till the end of August. What a Miracle!! Miracles are one of my favorite things that happen as a missionary. I see them happen every single day and what a blessing that is. I am so grateful for the love that Heavenly Father has for each and everyone of us.
Tina has also been looking for a job. She lost her job about a month ago and has been searching. After we put her on date for baptism she got 4 job interviews and now 3 job offers. It is amazing how, when you put the Lord first he answers all your prayers and the Heavens will open up.

We also had a few great lessons with Dana. She has had all the lessons now and is preparing even more for baptism. :) We are so proud of her. She has a lot of outside influence on her but she is able to stay strong and seek the Lord in all that she does. I have loved to see her progress through out the weeks!

Well we had district P-day on Monday and we had lunch together (I made Enchiladas) and played lots of fun games. I am proud to say that I beat everyone in the game called P-I-G. It was great :)
Overall, it was a great week. We taught many investigators and even had time to go finding. One interesting thing is that we are surrounded by lakes and rivers. All of the Lakes and Rivers are about to over flow! It is absolutely crazy. I think if it rains at all anymore there is going to be flooding everywhere!

Last but not least. This is the last time I will email before I get to call home! I am so excited to talk to one and all. The plan is to call about 7pm here so it will be 5pm at home. I am hoping to see everyone at least for a few minutes. I hope this works for everyone. I am not sure what everyone's plans are on Mothers day. I love you all though. Thank you so much for all the love and support.
I can't wait to see you all!

H a p p y M a y!

Well I can't believe the time has almost come for Transfers again! So I will be emailing on Saturday. Hopefully, by then I will have a new niece and a nephew!? Can't believe how fast the time flies.
Not much to talk about this week.

We are teaching this lady named Tina. Tina is amazing and I love her with my whole heart. We had an excellent lesson with her this week. We talked and read all about the Living Christ. ( If you haven't read it in awhile I would encourage you to read it with your families and by yourself. It was also mentioned many a times in conference.) She loved the message that it shared. We then invited her to pray about a baptismal date. She has been coming to church each week, she usually brings her grandson as well and they both enjoy church so much!  She also has been keeping the word of wisdom and has been feeling much better!

Oh we also got to ride in a Camaro this week. I decided though that they aren't as nice as I thought.  I much rather the fun gadgets inside and things that way than a strange looking outside. Not my taste of car but it was fun to ride in!

We met a couple of new people this week and hope to teach them and help them find joy in life.  It is so sad to see how many people are depressed here. I think a lot of the problem is that they just don't know how to work and find their own happiness and not only have happiness that comes from material things or even other people. It just amazes me. We are teaching all about happiness. I love being a missionary and helping people see the hope :)

Funny thing, so all over Michigan things are just half way done. The picture this week is an example of what I mean. We are standing on the side walk where we took the picture hahah.

I love you all! I hope everyone has a wonderful week and I will talk to you all on Saturday!

Peace and Blessings
