Happy Day

Hello one and all!
I hope everyone has had a great week, because I know that I have!

This week has been pretty busy around the Cadillac area.  We had a huge 2 Zone training this week in Midland. It was great! I loved being back in my little happy town of Midland. It was funny, a few missionaries had gotten there a little bit early to practice a musical number before the zone training and called me very flustered and said, "no one is here yet! Do you know the pass-code to get in?" Well of course I did, it turned out that the people from Midland were about the last ones to show up, so I ended up unlocking the whole building.
The conference was absolutely amazing. There were some wonderful trainings. One training that I loved was by an Elder who talked about being "All in". That in life we can't just hang on the side lines, but with everything we have, to go about it with full force. That when it comes down to the end of the day, are we going to sign our name at the end of it, by our saviors name and be proud of what we did that day?  It was very profound and I was so grateful to have that reminder. I know it can apply to all of us in our day to day life. Are we making our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ proud of what we do? Are we living with no regret?

We also were able to have a lot of wonderful lessons this week. Right now we have a few very wonderful investigators, who are willing to do whatever they need to do in order to fully commit themselves to the gospel. Sometimes it is scary, hard and not always the most appealing, but I can promise all of you, that as you put your Heavenly Father and his son, Jesus Christ first in your life, the windows of heaven will open and his blessing will literally be poured out upon you. I know this to be true because I see it in my life every single day. They love us and care about us. You think about the love you have for your children, family and friends. Multiply that by infinity and that is how much your Heavenly Father and Savior love you. Un-measurable, un-describable and untouchable love!  What an amazing thought!

We also got to go to a place called Sleeping Bear Dunes, for zone P-day. We played around in the dunes, threw footballs, played volleyball and jumped down cliffs. We also had a BBQ which was great. I even got a little bit of sun. I am slowly getting some tan lines!!

President Hoover joined us and it was a blast. He is so amazing. That man is probably one of the most knowledgeable people I have ever met. We hiked around with him for a few hours and he just told us so many amazing things. He really opened my eyes to somethings. One thing is in Doctrine and Covenants chapter 4. I invite you all to study it and I would love to hear your thoughts and then I will share what he shared with me :)

I love you all so very much. I am so grateful to be serving the Lord at this time! I want you all to know that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God, and that he is the prophet of the Restoration. There are so many things that are said good and bad things said about him, but you have to remember first off that man isn't perfect and secondly, that where truth is the adversary works the hardest to conflict us.

I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and I pray each of you can continue to develop a testimony of our Savior and of his gospel and the Prophet Joseph Smith.

Have a wonderful day and remember that Heaven is cheering you on today, tomorrow and forever!!

Note my new address!!

Ya know every time I hear the name of Cadillac this country song comes to mind and it says, "Cadillac Blackjack" So I Often refer to it as that. This week has been a wonderful week.

Maybe the highlight of my week is that I got SUNBURNED!!!! I was so, so happy, Now I just look a little less pasty. It is glorious. Sorry about all you who have gotten snow... I guess you should move to MICHIGAN! Jokes on you :)

Here in Cadillac we teach so very many lessons. This past week we taught a total of 25 lessons. Sometimes we put ourselves in a terrible predicament because we schedule so closely together.

We have been trying to figure out what the investigators/ inactive members know or don't know. Many of them don't know much so we have been reteaching them all the lessons. I hope my companion isn't upset about this but I am not going to baptize anyone unless they are fully converted to the gospel. We had an interesting lesson. We are teaching cousins. Their names are Dana and Katie. Katie has been meeting on and off with missionaries for about 2 years now. Dana just started a few months back. We were having a lesson about the 10 commandments with Dana and discussing them when Katie jumps in. She starts sharing all of her concerns. What is holding her back. Since I got here though all of her concerns and questions have come out. It is great. She told us she loves to practice all religions as well as paranormal activity and the occult. So we are going to have good discussion about that.

On the bright side though, I got her to come to church for the first time ever! In two years, she says she loves the gospel and that she loves her main man Tom ( President Monson), she's read and believes in the Book of Mormon, but has never come to church. Miracle has it though she finally came!

She absolutely loved it. I think hopefully things will really begin to progress with her.
We also went door knocking this week and accidentally knocked into three inactive members. All of which let us in and want us to go back and have dinner or meet with them. That was kind of a fun surprise.

I am so grateful for my new companion, she is such an inspiration. We have found so much success working together and I know that we are going to bring as many of Heavenly Fathers children back into the fold. Over and over in the scriptures it talks about how Jesus Christ always is watching over all 100 sheep and not just 99. I know that he cares about each of us individually and that he does live! This time of year we remember his resurrection and that because of our Savior we are able to return to live with our Father in Heaven again one day! "The testimony last of all, which we give of him is that he LIVES!" I know this to be true. I have see first hand what his gospel can do, if we depend on him and if we do our part, by reading, praying and going to church. This gospel saves lives and it blesses each of us individually. Happy Easter to one and All and remember why we celebrate the resurrection of him who lives.

I love you all and hope you have a wonderful week and a Happy Easter!

Welcome to Cadillac!

However, with that said, we have 3 people that we are going to put on baptismal date this week! Oh what a blessing that is going to be. They will be such great additions to the branch here. They all know that the gospel is true and are so grateful for it.  We had so many lessons here this past week and we are just go go go but I know it is exactly what the Lord wants me to do.

Wasn't conference just amazing!? I loved how much it talked about the Plan that Heavenly Father has for each of us. I know that he is providing a way for each of us to improve and become the people he knows that we can be.

My new companion. Her name is Sister Bair. She is from Washington. She is taller than me :) Shocker I know! She has long blonde hair and I am greenie busting her! (Mission slang for I am her companion right after training.) She is so wonderful. I love her so much. She grew up on a little farm and has 5 sisters and a brother.

Oh one quick awesome story. So we went out door knocking one afternoon and knocked into this girl name Sophie. We stood at her door and talked to us. She said she doesn't really think she believes in God because of all the crap that happens in the world. We talked for a good amount of time. She is married and has a 2 year old little boy.  We got a return appointment with them.

We went over and sat and talked. They asked if we wouldn't pray with them as it makes them uncomfortable. So we continued on. I kept feeling prompted to share the 1st vision. I did and I didn't feel like it went any where.

As we were getting up to leave I asked if we could come back and her husband said well I work with someone who is LDS so I can just ask him questions. Then Sophie said well if you don't hear from me by Thursday, you can stop by and we can have a lesson in the Afternoon. That shocked us both as we weren't expecting them to let us come back. I know that something touched her though. She was very open with us which I thought was amazing.

Heavenly Father Knows us all individually and knows what we need. He will always guide us and for that I am eternally grateful. I loved how in conference it talked about how to recognize and feel the spirit. I pray that all of you will review these talks as they are so real.

I love you all so much!
I hope you have a wonderful week :)
