HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Monday October 31, 2016

Happy Halloween to one and all!
Today is an all day P- day for us in the Michigan Lansing Mission because it is Halloween. How fun is that?! The plan is we are going to a members home and we are going to pass out candies to the trick-or-treaters and maybe watch Ephraim's Rescue. We aren't sure but we know we are passing out candy!

This week it freaking snowed. Yes, you read that right SNOW! I hate snow. It is wet and cold and miserable and we are on foot right now so it is even more terrible! We were able to pick up 5 new investigators this week.

One lady we met last week, the lady we took the groceries in for, let us have dinner with her. She let me make the mashed potatoes which I loved because they actually kind of tasted like moms! Everyone thought they were just delicious. So I guess that is good. We talked to her about the Restoration. She enjoyed the lesson and loves us. We will see how it will go. She has a injured knee so she isn't able to get around too well.

Nothing too exciting happened this week. We did service for a couple of people and raked their leaves. One lady who is 86 year old was out raking the night before and we told her that we are going to come tomorrow and rake for her. So we went over the next day and didn't answer so we just started to rake. After a few minutes, she comes out and says what are you doing?! We said we told you that we were going to rake your leaves. She said she just wanted us to forget about it and come inside and talk. We told her that we were going to rake for a few more minutes.. so about 20 minutes later she comes out and says okay you are done! We said 5 more minutes. Then she came out again and was like come inside now. So we said fine. Then she just talked and talked. We had a dinner appointment soon so we couldn't talk very long. I was looking at her Hummels she had hundreds of them. She asked if I wanted one and I said no. Then she reached in and said here these are for you two. I am old am going to die soon and I just need to get rid of things. I hand them out to everyone. She was really cute!

Sorry this weeks letter is so short! I hope all is doing well. I love you all!
Love Sister Milar
