Welcome to Kalamazoo!!

Welcome to Kalamazoo!!
What a busy week this has been. Well I have officially left Cadillac and have started a new adventure in K-zoo. My new address is 232 Lake Ridge Dr. Kalamazoo Mi 49006. So I hope to hear from you all soon. I love my baby Sister Hughes in Cadillac and she is doing so great! She is having a baptism on Saturday and I am so proud of her and all the hard work she is doing. So much improvement has happened.

My new companion is Sister Eisert. She is from South Weber. She will be going home in December. We are opening the Western Michigan University Campus area for the sisters. The zone leaders have been serving here but since missionaries were down the shut the sisters area down during the summer. So we are up and running. :)

It has been a good week though. Lots of wonderful meeting with the Mission president and stake president. We do a lot more paper work than I use to. We are like the parents of the Kalamazoo zone so everyone calls and talks to us when they need anything. So to be honest I have been very short on time lately. We usually just barely make it to bed by 10:30 and a few nights later than that by the time we get everything done. I love it though. I love being able to serve the missionaries I am out here with.

The best story this week. Since we are serving on campus we don't have a car. It only takes about 5 minutes to walk and then there are students everywhere. So yesterday we decided to walk to church which is about 40 minutes away. It was a beautiful day and the sun was shining. We serve at the KUB which is the Kalamazoo University Branch. So we got in there and sat down after visiting and this girl walked in that none of us knew. I looked at her and stood up to sit by her. Her name was cash and she is just looking for a friend. She was really quite. Sacrament started and she was out cold. In a deep, deep sleep. My heart melted as I think she might be homeless. I tried to poke her awake for sacrament but to no avail. So after the meeting she followed us to gospel principles where once again she fell asleep. Then I ran to the restroom after that class and she was gone... We are hoping that we will be able to see her again. After church we ran over to a members home for lunch. On our way back it started to sprinkle but we all know what happens in Michigan. When it rains in pours. So with in 5 minutes we are completely sopping wet. So we walked back to the KUB just dripping wet. We walked inside and just got the giggles. We looked like disasters and still had to walk 45 minutes home to change. Life is so great. We were happy the whole time because we love the rain and as a missionary that is the best thing that you could possibly ask for!

This week is going to be crazy busy. Elder Snow is coming to visit on Wednesday, Sister Eisert and I have to be there early for a meeting with him and then we will be with him all day. We also have trade- offs with sisters that are serving in Three Rivers and St. Joseph. I am excited to see all of them and meet the ones I haven't met yet. Then I hopefully can head back to Cadillac for Kate's baptism!! Happy DAY!

I just want to close with one of my favorite scriptures found in 2 Nephi 31:20. It says, "Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life."

I love you all so much.
I hope you have a wonderful week!
LOVE SISTER MILAR
